Barbara Ann Fitzpatrick is Dublin born but has spent the last 36 years in the UK. She is passionate about helping small independent business owners, sole traders, and solopreneurs to grow their businesses by attracting more clients and increasing revenue.

“My senior corporate role was made redundant while in my mid-50s. Unfortunately, my age meant I could not find another role at a similar level. So I chose to re-invent myself and set up Kindred Business Networking, which I have been successfully running since 2020,” explains Barbara.

Kindred Business Networking is a safe community where individual business owners can connect and feel supported. Considering the enormous impact lockdown has had on many businesses, the network has provided a welcome opportunity for advice and guidance, and it has certainly contributed to reducing that sense of isolation that often comes with being self-employed.

Thanks to the way Barbara facilitates and leads the group, the shared experiences that have been so common for many businesses during the pandemic have allowed members to grow closer, become each other’s ambassadors, and support other members unconditionally - both in terms of business growth and engagement.

Kindred re-launched as a membership organisation in November 2020, just before the second UK lockdown. Members can now also enjoy 1-to-1 business coaching sessions with Barbara and quarterly workshops that help improve skills and learn processes for success.

Barbara teaches heart-centred small business owners how to NetGIVE not NetWORK. She believes it is possible to create business growth without aggressively selling and is now taking this networking model back to her home country of Ireland to enable more business owners to connect in a collaborative and supportive way.

There are many networking groups in both the UK and Ireland, but what sets Kindred apart are the core values of Integrity, Collaboration, Engagement, Transparency, Inclusiveness, Support, Kindred Spirits, Openness, and Fun. And certainly, the way Barbara mentors her members and is committed to teaching new skills is one of the most sought-after USPs of the organisation.

A great success story comes from a Kindred member who was completely new to networking and set up his independent Real Estate business in January 2020. Since joining Kindred, he has grown his business exponentially. “Kindred is one of the best investments I have made. I am getting a lot out of it – making friends as we network and do courses together. What I get back is unbelievable, and the connections have helped my business grow,” says member Darren Bartlett.

Barbara is now creating new groups throughout the UK, Ireland, and beyond as a franchise business opportunity to allow Kindred to grow into a global group of successful heart-centred business owners with shared values. Her first group in Ireland is all on-line.

NetGIVING is a proven model for success in Kindred. Making time for NetGIVING is an investment in your business, and that time will pay off multiple fold. To help you find out more about the NetGIVE model, Barbara has created a Top Tips guide to Business Growth Without Selling. These tips are based on her many years’ experience with networking as well as founding and running Kindred.

Barbara will be launching her first Kindred Ireland Group online on Tues Oct 12th . If you are interested in finding out more, feel free to reach out to Barbara directly.
